<p>I wish I could get rid of more of the paperwork filling my file cabinet! How long do you think you need to keep all the college financial stuff? I think I should be keeping some tuition bills for justifying the 529 expenses for tax reasons, but for how long? How about the FAFSA copies and the the CSS profile?</p>
<p>Not an answer to you’re question of “how long?”, but I’ve taken to just keeping an e-copy of all that stuff on the computer. For FAFSA and Profile you can save them as a PDF on your computer, or just a copy and paste into a Word doc. Also copies of college bills, book purchase receipts, etc., and tax returns. There’s still a bunch of stuff and you’ll wonder how long you should keep it, but it doesn’t take up any room in the already stuffed filing cabinet!</p>
