How many AP Scholars with Distinction after junior year in your high school?

You’re the only one in the world, buddy. Congratulations.

WOW!!! congratulations bud!! ur the smartest kid in the world

He was just asking. He might not even be one.

Kind of a specific question to just be wondering about, don’t you think?

what are the req?

There might be two in my son’s class of 200. Most kids would have only taken four APs by the end of Junior year. Unusual for kids at his school to have taken five, which I believe is the requirement for AP scholars with distinction.

Requirement - from CB - " granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken , and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams"

bump I have a student who qualified for National AP Scholar.

Hm…in my school there are usually around 10-15 students who achieve this. I’ll be a senior next year but I’ve already achieved AP Scholar with Distinction as well as the AP International Diploma.

Honestly, it’s not that big of a deal. I don’t have it, but if I wanted to then i could have probably got it with a single day of studying (only took 3 exams). It is not very hard to get a 3 on certain exams like human geo, psych, and world history.

yea it really isnt that big a deal, its just a name, it doesnt mean anything or give you anything. if i had taken 1 more ap i would have been a national ap scholar but what does it really matter. why would i bother overloading myself

My son did not even realize that there were AP awards until I told him ( I had read about them on CC recently). We then saw the little blurb on awards on the AP report card. It does not seem to be a big deal on CC - where student posters seem to be good students with eye-popping academic achievements. However, if the OP earned an AP Scholar with Distinction award in his/her junior year, he/she has every right to feel good. In the real world - the one outside of CC - kids don’t take 5 APs by their junior year. None of my son’s friends outside of his school - from church, neighborhood - have even taken an AP class, much less an AP exam.

This link is the CB spreadsheet showing number of AP scholars (broken down by national, with distinction, etc) by grade and state in 2006
