We have only 3 AP courses at school.
I’m taking AP math, AP Chemistry and AP Physics at Grade 11 now.
We don’t have any more. For the top schools, it might not be enough.
So I’m thinking about taking AP Statistics by self study.
If I just take 3 AP tests next May, am I in disadvantage compared to other students, even though I have good scores in GPA, SATA, SATA subjects and extra activities like other competitors(?)

Not at all. They look at what opprotunities your school gives you and if you maximize them then you will be on par with kids who took 5-12 APs. If you really want to impress colleges, go take advanced courses at your community college. That will show real initiative.

Otherwise, don’t sweat it. You’re in great shape with 3!

I agree with the above post, its not your fault that your school only offers 3 aps. Good Luck :)

Especially because of your limited selection, colleges will want to see how you deal with having been dealt a bad hand (figuratively, concerning course availability). A community college will be good. So would doing some academic extracurriculars (state academic competitions, olympiad tests, etc). You can try to to self-study a few tests (maybe one or two a year). But you want to improve your whole academic portfolio, not just the AP side of it.

Colleges won’t hold it against you, but you should self-study Statistics anyway. It’s extremely useful, and not too hard to learn.
