What is the average number of AP courses/tests taken by students admitted to selective colleges?

Doesn’t matter, as long as you take the most challenging courseload available to your school.

What if my school offers more AP courses than I have room on my schedule to take? I am interested in all subjects, so I do not know how many AP courses I should take and also how many AP tests I should take and whether I should do independent study for any of the tests.

I’m taking three classes at a college next year, five AP classes, and two other classes (no AP for those). I don’t know if that’s average.

Hope that’s helpful, lol.

There are many factors taken into consideration. Performance and # of APs taken account for only a small portion of the application review.

On average, UCLA admits averaged 6-8 APs during the student’s HS career.
