This is something I’m curious about. How many applicants to top colleges (Ivy League, Tier 1) know their future plans when applying? I know most people end up switching majors in college…

I do, but in my experience I find myself in a minority here. Two friends of mine that graduated this year are going to top-tier schools and neither of them know what they want to do.
One is going to Dartmouth for math just because it got her in, and the other is going to Notre Dame and has no clue.

I’m not the traditional, picturesque representation of a top tier student, but I’m a bright guy and I’m hell-bent on certain things; what I want to do in life is one of them =).

A lot of people I know (Ivy-bent and otherwise) insist that they will be doctors, lawyers, that kind of thing. Based on their IB Chem grades, I imagine a few of them will be changing career paths come Orgo.
