How many college credits are needed for colleges to ignore high school trancripts?

Hi everyone!

I’m new and i have a question that i REALLY hope someone can awnser for me.

Ok so i am a rising senior in high school and didnt do so well in my sophmore year. I’m considering taking a few CLEP (college level examination program) tests in order to get some college credits for college. I just read on collegeboard.com that a certain number of college credits can have colleges ignore your high school transcripts. How many credits is that?

It depends on the college, you need to check their transfer policies. If you are trying to apply straight out of hs even with college credits, they will not ignor your hs GPA.

Also, CLEP probably won’t pass you out of that.
Besides- even when transferring from a community college or another school after a year they often look at your high school transcript anyway.
