How many colleges should I apply to?

<p>I have a pretty long list of colleges I would like to apply to but I think its too long. Whats a good number to apply to? I have a 3.8 GPA and majoring in History I am thinking of applying to mostly UCs maybe CSULB.I am completing all pre reqs, but I dont have man EC so I think that might weaken my application. From what I’ve read UCLA and UCB have the best History programs, but my chances of getting accepted aren’t very high. So idk if I should apply to both or maybe choose one? Just to narrow down my list.</p>
