How many colleges should I apply to?

So far I’ve chosen that I would like to Major in Biology and Minor in French. I think I should atleast apply to five colleges. Here is a list and you guys can tell me what you think.

What I’m looking for in the campus though.

~Urban
~Social Life
~Well Known , Big 10, or Major University.
~Club Sports for Hockey, Baseball.

So far here is my list.

Ohio State - Columbus
Florida State - Tallahassee

Those are the only two so far that I’m really set on. Others I’ve considered.

~ Texas A&M (Seems decent, but I don’t know much about it).
~ Michigan State
~ Arizona State (Just seems interesting).

Any other information on decent schools would be appreciated. AZU seems like a super party school so I don’t know, but hey it’s down south and the weather is always dry which is a plus for me.

What kid of stats you talking about?

University of Pittsburgh, University of Nebraska - Lincoln, University of Missouri - Columbia, University of Colorado - Boulder. All large, in good sized cities/towns. Warm and dry makes me think of California. San Diego State is a party school. There are other state schools in CA, though, some in large cities like San Jose State. Most of them are decent. The trick is to figure out which ones are commuter schools and which ones have a resident student body. Usually, the ones in large cities are commuter.

The Schools in California are expensive! I don’t know, maybe not to a native, but Out of State Tuition is a killer. But yeah I’m looking for an active on campus student body . I’m quite confident in Ohio State and Florida, but as you know you don’t always get your first choice. Year round warm weather is a plus coming from a cold Northern State.

:-P

But you want to play Hockey, those are fairly mutually exclusive.

Pitt, MSU, UM, UF, UCLA, UCB, UW, UWash, and PSU would seem to be your best bets.

Wait - urban - scratch PSU, and maybe UM, MSU, and Wiscy(though they have awesome college towns).

Texas A&M is not in an urban setting. U of Texas is pretty much.

Pitt, definately.

Yeah, I’m looking to play on a club team. I played in high-school, and would like to continue to play.

I’ve actually looked at PSU and thought it was decent for awhile, but I’ve heard it’s in the middle of nowhere.
