How many credits?

<p>HOw many credits are college courses typically worth? I mean subject classes like math, science, english and so forth. Thank you for any information.</p>

<p>Zoosermom, In a semester system most full courses are 3 credits.</p>

<p>Generally 3 credits for a standard 3 hr. per week class. The standard used to be 1 credit hour for every hour you spend in class per week in a 15 week schedule. Different schools have different systems but this is the usual gauge.</p>

<p>There might also be a lab attached to a class, for instance, science. Lab credits generally are 1 credit.</p>

<p>As sax mentioned, I’m sure different schools have variations on this.</p>

<p>What sax said is generally true. Here at Hopkins, most humanities and social science classes are 3 credits and more math and engineering classes are 4 credits.</p>
