For me it’s one, and it is the first digit, 2.

That’s better than me. I don’t even know what Euler’s number is. :|

Why is his name pronounced “oiler” and not “you-ler” ?

^^The ‘e’ in e^x

^Ohhhhhhhhh! Yea, I still don’t know any digits, so RAlec still beats me. Lol.

^^^That has been confounding me as well.

2.721428… I think.

EDIT: Damn, it’s 2.721828… Oh well, I beat RAlec by 1 digit.

I know 2.7 but that’s it.

It’s easy to remember several digits: 2.718281828459045.

Two-point-seven, then
18 28 18 28, then
45-90-45, like an isosceles right triangle.

After that, no clue. But you know, I’m a math teacher, and I never need to be more precise than the 10^-15 place.

Yeah I could have said 2.7 but beyond that I don’t know (or care, frankly).

Copy thread? I don’t think anyone cares about Euler’s Number as much as pi.

i’ve never even heard of euler’s number. nerds!

just kidding!

I just memorized up to 50 then realized that I needed to find something else to do.

2.71828182845904523536028747135266249775724709369995

I then went on to try pi, but gave up. It’s so much harder. :

e is better than pi.

^I agree. pi is dull. e has many interesting properties. My favorite is its rare-event model in combinatorics and e^-iθ.

This summer we wrote a proof that stated e was the most efficient number.

Is such a proof even possible?

The way I learned my digits of e was this:

2.7 Who was the 7th President of the U.S.? Andrew Jackson
2.71828 What year was he elected? (1828)
2.718281828 How many terms did he serve? (2, so repeat 1828)
2.718281828459045 Everyone’s favorite trangle? (459045)

So I only know up to 2.718281828459045, but that is more than I’ll ever need ha ha.

Yeah. Sadly I don’t have a copy of the proof, I stupidly forgot to write it down. My gov school class was a bunch of bored math nerds.

I know 2.7182818284590452353602874713526624977572470936999

I forget why I was learning e, it just happened at some point.

I love memorizing things. It’s fun seeing how far you can stretch your mind.
