How many GB?

Hi. So I have never had a good smartphone before. I have only had cheap tracfones that don’t work well. I am going to college this year, and I am getting an iPhone 6s. I was wondering how many GB of storage I should get. 16 seems like it won’t be enough (My ipad mini is always running out of storage), but 64 and 128 can get expensive. What is the ideal number of gbs for a college student? Also, can anyone recommend a certain carrier (unlimited talk, text, data). I’ve heard sprint and t-mobile are good. Thanks!

I have a 16 GB & it’s alright. By the time you run out of storage, you’ll be ready for an upgrade/trade-in, though, so no use in buying the 64. Unless you plan on keeping it for a long time.

However, eventually the hardware deteriorates a bit, causing glitches in the software…Also, you’ll run out of room for software updates, and thus won’t be able to update apps…All part of Apple’s evil plan to take your money.

So, you leased your phone? I wasn’t sure if I should lease, or do installments, or buy up front (since I have enough). You think leasing is best?

16 GB will be enough IF you put photos, movies, etc. in cloud storage. My D’s college provides each student a terrabyte of free storage through One Drive. Check what your college might offer. Just remember in 4 years you either have to start paying or move it to an external drive.

I have an Android with an SD card, and it’s honestly a lifesaver. My phone has 16 GB of storage and my card has 32 GB, but I STILL run out of room on my phone since the apps take up so much space (I’m looking at you, Pokemon Go!).

I would honestly suggest that you make the investment to get a 64 GB phone. It’s more expensive, but you’ll have room for a lot more things and it’ll give you more peace of mind (you won’t have to worry about transferring all your photos every month because you have no room left for the Pokemon Go update, for example).
