School is just starting and I want to get on the right track. I haven’t been in school for 3 semesters. So how many hours should I spend on the computer doing things like shopping, games, Facebook, email, etc?

and also should i use the computer for fun at night before i go to sleep? or during the day?

Is it possible to set up email through your phone? That way you can check things through your phone periodically through the day during some free time. Same with Facebook, if you need to use it.

Also, I feel like a better idea would be to set up system of work/play rather than just saying x amount of hours on the computer for fun works.

For example, I feel like fun should come after everything you NEED to do… so my system is to finish all homework due the next day first, and then spend whatever time I have left for free computer time. Some people I know do work for 1 hour, then take a 15 min break, then continue on doing work. I think you should pick a balanced system that works best for you.

Also I recommend computer for fun during the day/evening but never before bed. Studies have shown using your computer right before bed disrupts how you sleep.

Serious? You’re asking folks who spend far too much time on CC? The real answer is: you finish your work, spend some more proactive time on it, take care of life responsibilities-- and then play. You can check for school or work related emails a few times/day.

As many or as few as you want. Welcome to adulthood.

If you go online at difrent times you can meet people in some cool places. So don’t just go online at day or nite. Be random. And hang out online with people in your dorm so you can meet people there and play games and do whatever basically. But don’t just sit in your dorm by yourself. That’s bad.

Thanks everyone for your responce.
