How many of you people are valedictorians?

2/520 ish. but i’m going to wrestle my way to top even if it means i have to defy the laws of physics

I think so but my grade is relatively dumb for my school. I have some really good athletes in my grade but some don’t try to get grades and rely on only their sport to get them into college. There are roughly 4 people vying for val. My school doesn’t rank tho do I don’t know :</p>

1/430.

But there are lots of high schools in this country to a point that it doesn’t really matter anymore.

13/498

Er, just wondering, how do you guys all get #1? I take the hardest courseload and have a 97 average throughout high school. My grades in 8th and 9th pulled down my HS GPA (as well as all art courses since I never get 100s) but my later years improve them. The guy #1 in my class skipped a year (so 1 less year of work) and takes easy classes.

I manage to be 6/214 with my unweighted GPA (They count weighted) but it’s also because my class is really uncompetitive >_>

@DMOC

Dont worry, college admissions notice it when your #1 but take PE every year

not meeee

6/186

I’m 1/346! My school ranks weighted, so I DO actually have the highest + hardest course load.
It was no problem getting into the top 5 because my class isn’t terribly bright either; in past years, even out of the top kids, only 20-30 don’t go to community college (which is a money thing for many, but many are just lazy and dont’ know their options).
I was ranked two until this year started, My school started to play around with the courses and made 3rd year language courses for honors credit, and the girl who was ahead of me hadn’t taken a 3rd year course. So in a way, she should be number one. But I’m definitely not complaining. ;)

Its funny, like Wvernrider123, I’m the only guy in the top 10 (for sure, possibly going down to top 16). LOL.

1/670
Sad thing is, “valedictorian” at our school doesn’t refer to 1st in class, but whoever took a minimum of 4 AP classes (our school offers 25?) and got all A’s (semesters). So there’s really 10 “valedictorians” at our school. Their ranks are 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 11th, 15th, etc.
=[

I’m currently rank 1/783, but after 1st semester I’ll be rank 2 or 3 even if I get straight As. :frowning: Chose French over Spanish, and this is how I suffer (can’t take an AP) :P

I’m okay with it though, it’s better I get used to not being on top now than when I go to college and become super depressed at being stupid.

^ I had the exact same problem. Chosing French would mean I’d get a lower GPA than the people I was competing against. Luckily I was able to convince the administration that French IV should AT least be honors. And they bent to my demands. :D

1 out of about 200, but my school is so unbelievably fail that if you don’t make an A+ in every class, you’re really just not trying…

Me. 1/760.

4 year old thread being bumped.

My rank: 1/10295 (approx.)

Seriously: 3/50ish

I think I’m towards the top out of 79, but I’m not sure. I was number 11 with only 2 honors courses and a 3.6 weighted, so I’m probably higher now since I think I’m the only one taking 4 AP’s and I think I could end this semester with a 4.0. Sadly, I can’t get them to give me credit for community college, so that doesn’t help :(

I am, but it’s not an achievement more than just… luck. My good friends who are ranked 1-5 are just as smart or smarter than I am, but I get ranked first because I took some classes that they didn’t take or I got a good grade on this test 'cause I got lucky. Really, it’s nothing.

Over 9000!!!

15/386. I’m satisfied with that, though I’d like to be top 10. However, I have had a very rigorous courseload and some classes were not weighted as AP’s, but I enjoyed all my classes so far, and I just want to do well in what I have.

I am 2/352. :(

But my val is very smart in terms of book-learning, that is.

3/47. woot
