I visited my optometrist yesterday and was told I needed a prescription for glasses. Now that I’ve been wearing them for a day, I am absolutely astonished by how poor my vision is without them! My prescription is -1.50 diopters in both eyes. Is that abnormally high for a first prescription? My optometrist didn’t say anything to that effect, I’m just curious!

I feel your pain… I have - 3.50 in one eye and - 1.75 in the other. I don’t think that’s too bad, since I can somewhat well out of my -1.75 eye compared to my other one… such as the computer screen (unfortunately that isn’t a joke, haha).
I first got glasses about 8 years ago. I remember being fascinated with how I could see the individual leaves on a tree :P

Nope…still wont wear them… btw my prescription is 2.00 and 1.75

I had perfect vision until I turned 40. Then I noticed that things were getting blurry… got an eye exam… and a prescription for bifocals(!?!).

That same summer I had bunion surgery and got a case of shingles.

But… but… aging is what happens to OTHER people!!
