how many people per year get a 5 on the APUSH, Macro, Micro, Psych and Lang AP exams?

Umm, I’ve heard the APUSH has the lowest pass rate and Psych has one of the higher

I think it was from CB but…according to what I remember, I think only like 11% of APUSH takers gets a 5

Here’s the College Board release from last year: Higher Education Professionals | College Board;

In years past, US History has most often had a higher number of fives than that. So, there might be a change upward when this year’s statistics are released. But the mean scores for all the history tests have always been rather low compared to the other subjects, usually around 2.5-2.9.

Although that probably reflects who’s taking the test more than how difficult it is. BC Calculus has the highest pass rate, probably because really good students take it, and US History has a low one because an enormous number take it.

Yeah, they only have low rates for those exams because over 300,000 people take them but with a test like Physics E&M only about like 12,000 take it so it has a higher percentage.

Well, that’s usually true but not always. Average scores for Psychology and Calculus AB, two large APs, are usually higher (though not as much in 2008) than Human Geography, one of the smaller ones (though lots of 9th graders bhy comparison).

Also, it has a lot to do with perceived degree of difficulty.

BC kids know what they’re getting into.
Enviro/Human Geo kids don’t.

Also, some schools artifically mess with pass rates by encouraging students not to take the exam, or not letting lower-achieving students into AP classes to begin with.
