How many point do you start out with?

Someone at work told me that the act test starts you out with 10 points just for writing your name. Is this true? I looked online and couldn’t find anything on this. Does the act give you points for just starting the exam?

No, don’t think so. I know several people got single digit on some sections.

Don’t think so. Leaving the whole test blank is equivalent to answering every question wrong. However on the SAT leaving every question blank is slightly better than answering all incorrectly, so you’ll probably score in the 200-250 range for each section.

I’m pretty sure that isn’t true. However, guessing the same letter on every question will theoretically get you a 9 on English, Science & Reading, and a 7 on Math so a 9 Composite.

So in a way you start out with 9 points, but only if you fill out the bubble sheet completely.

Not sure if this is urban legend or not- does anyone remember Chris Washburn- played college basketball at NC ST. when Jim Valvano was coach. Reportedly got 410 on the SAT, with 400 of those pints just for signing his name.

This I the silliest post ever. I hope none of you are planning on trying this technique on tomorrow’s ACT.
