Does anyone know the percentage or likelihood for admission a recruited athlete actually has at WUSTL? There are no LL, and they are not D1
This would vary by sport. The track coach may have 3-4 spots he can ask admissions to look favorably upon while the baseball coach may have 10. You’d need to ask the coach for your sport how many he has and how successful he’s been in getting all his recruits through admissions.
As a frame of reference, the XC team is top-10 D3 and their Female Freshman Class has great times so a conversation with the coach would definitely make sense as for a highly selective D3 school they seem to have done very well (better than most similarly selective D3 schools with strong teams).
how can you tell what sport it is and whether the OP is a male or female?
In my daughter’s sport, the coach requested her transcript at the end of junior year and submitted it to admission. That is called an “early read”. Admission comes back with whether you can get in or not. So you should know by sometime in August, but it probably varies by sport. Most D3’s do early reads.
It would be impossible to know the number of recruits who are admitted because not all recruits even apply. If a recruit get an early read and it isn’t good, do you count that student as a recruit who didn’t get admitted?
Really, I think a lot of the whittling down happens before the application stage.
