How many regret your high school career?

<p>Huh. I regret doing basically no extracurriculars this year (9th). So as a result, for freshman year I have NO volunteer work, school government stuff, sports, or clubs beyond three I’m not enthusiastic about, really…and since my school is all too strict I can’t just step in now. Plus I didn’t study as well for the SAT as I was hoping to be able to…well, when my scores come back in nine more days I’ll see. :confused: Oh, I also didn’t try out for orchestra this year. I doubt I can next year either. Gah, I wish someone had shown me CC earlier, then I would’ve known about the need to take all this extra stuff…my American-college-ignorant parents were all like…“Oh, take all advanced classes and get high A grades in each class and you’ll be good”. Then I look on here, and ay…</p>

<p>Now all I really have a chance for this year is to focus on my state piano competitions, try to make AIME, and hopefully do my math credit for next year over the summer to have a more “rigorous” courseload next year. Then maybe I can start over with really looking into clubs and community service and everything else. And hope that colleges won’t look too closely at everything exo-academic that I skipped freshman year…bleh…</p>
