How many subject tests should I take?

My school’s honors program requires three, so I will have to take those. But how many should I report to colleges? And should I only report my best scores?

Also I will be taking AP US and Calc AB this year (junior year) so I plan to take those two subject tests in June. I also want to take the literature test, but I’m not taking AP lit until senior year. Do you think I’ll be okay with the subject test even if i’ve only taken AP Lang? Or should I wait until the beginning of senior year?

Well there is no Calc AB subject test. Go for math II instead; brush up on algebra b/c most of math II is algebra. The lit subject test is mostly rhetorically analyzing poems. It really depends on how good you are at that.

As for reporting scores to colleges, I think it depends on what you get. If you get above 750+ the first time and retake, don’t send the first score. Generally, people only send their best scores, but if you took the SAT and did poorly sophomore year, then did excellent senior year, that might help you. In your case though, it’s probably safe just to go w/ best scores. Most colleges require two subject tests only, but if you perform well on all 3, go ahead and send; it’ll be an extra bonus.
