How many sweet 16's have you went to?

One - my own. Not that it was real party anyway. My parents don’t let me have a social life, so I’ve had to turn down the invitations I have gotten. In my culture, we have ‘Debuts’ when we turn 18, so I can’t wait for that. They’re like Quinceaneras. I’m flying to the Philippines for it, so I won’t have many friends to pick out my court from, but at least I’ll have my family (and their deep pockets to spoil me).

If you guys think you get tired of sweet 16’s, just wait for graduation parties. They are endless. I’ve been invited to 8 so far, skipped 3 (one of which I was sad to have to miss), and have, I think, two more, though I’m unsure about going to the last one.

^ Lol, in the last three weeks I’ve spent more nights at other people’s houses than my own, a good deal of them being for grad parties. I actually threw my own just a few days ago.

^^ Complete with a cotillion? All of my Filipino friends and cousins opted to throw a sweet sixteen with a cotillion included instead of having a debut, so I kind of want to know what those are like lol.

^ I know. It’s like, once people realize the finality of the end of high school, you can’t get them to leave you alone.
My sister (and mother. And aunt) were debutantes. The cotillion was boring and most of the girls were snooty, completely without cause.

@ Millancad: I’ve noticed…I’ve been getting too many grad party invites this year as well…too many for me to be able to attend all…and some of them are on days when i’m out of town :[ (plus they clog up my newsfeed).

I wonder how I’ll deal w/ them next year :/

none. i’m 17 and i haven’t had a formal party since i was… six.
i might throw an 18th birthday party though.

nice
ya ive only been to like 1 grad party
