<p>They sponsor 42 sports; you could go to the website and count the rosters, take off about a quarter of those who may have walked-on without being recruited, and then assume that about a quarter of that number get recruited each year.</p>
<p>There are about 340 freshman varsity athletes in the class of 2014 at Harvard. I have heard approximately 230 likely letters were issued (not sure if they were all athletic or if that included academic as well).</p>
