How many units at summer school is normal?

<p>Since I have been taking only 3 technical classes each semester for my first year I know I should take summer school. I was wondering what the normal amounts of units are to take during summer school. I know it is early, but I want to start thinking so I can get into the classes I want. I was wondering which combination would be best for summer school.</p>

OR
Biology 1B AND History##</p>

<p>Any insight is much appreciated :)</p>

<p>8 units (2 classes) is pretty standard i think. If you take more you’ll be working nonstop but if you take less you’ll have way too much free time</p>

<p>Most people take no more than two core courses (8 units) but many people only take one course while doing something else, i.e. a job, volunteering, research, etc.</p>
