Please someone tell me this is the last one.

If I get in, I would like to find a way to visit. But I’m not spending $$$ to go up to Syracuse until I know if I got in or not. And I already got into other schools that I would choose over SU/Newhouse.

If this isn’t going to be the last wave, then how many more are left?

As you can probably tell, I’m quite fed up with this wave BS.

@yearbookstalker we are too but at least if we do not hear soon will be commiting to U of Florida .In the end the choice is tough Syracuse= great school in a run down rust belt town vs Florida in a hot as hell cauldron. you cant win lol

I spoke to a counselor today, and she said the waves will go on for the rest of April, but the major waves should continue for this week and next week. I’m assuming the little waves are just for people who submitted their materials late, or had special circumstances.

I got into 8 schools, waitlisted at 1, and then rejected at 2. The schools I’m considering very carefully are BU, Northeastern, and Southern Methodist. Oh, and kinda Elon, but I haven’t visited it yet and it’s not that high up on my radar so yeah.

SMU is in a much warmer climate (Dallas) and I wanted to experience a different culture. I’m a sucker for southern hospitality. And the campus is beautiful. At the same time, it’s very Greek and the journalism program isn’t that great. Plus, getting there and back would be long/expensive. But everything in Texas is pretty cheap.

BU has a strong journalism program, but it’s so close to home…20-30 minutes away lolol. Also, I know this sounds a little shallow, but it’s like 35:65 guy to girl ratio. Not that I’m looking for hook ups, but I can’t hang out with mostly girls 24/7. I need my guy friends. And girls fighting over guys…ugh shudder Also, it’s a bit more urban that I would like it. And let’s be honest, BU hasn’t been getting good press the past few years, whether its the newspaper poking fun at rape, students dying abroad, or their hockey team getting into trouble.

NEU also has a good journalism program. And the co-op program is amazing. The campus has a balance between urban and collegiate. It’s still pretty close to home (35-45 minutes away.) I got put into their NUin program, meaning I would have to study abroad in either England, Costa Rica, or Greece (hopefully England haha) for the first semester, then come back for the second semester. At first I was hesitant, but I researched the program and I think it would be a good fit for me.
