I read somewhere that the length varies between 800 and 1200 words. Can someone confirm this?

That seems awfully long. I think for the most part the length is between 500 and 800 words.

Ahh okay, I’ll just count…

Each long dual passage (the comparing ones) ~ 340-370 words
Each short passage (the ones with 2 questions each) ~ 95-125 words
Full page passage (covers both columns of the page entirely) ~ 700-750 words
Other passage (ones that cover the left column and half of the right column) ~ 580-630

I think I covered all the types. Those are just rough estimates I made based on two real tests.

Why does this even matter?

@jollybjolly: That helps A LOT! Thanks!

@SandwichGirl: I have an assignment- making an entire SAT test (minus experimental, 2 math and 1 critical reading and 1 writing section). This is supposed to help me understand the “test-makers’ craft” since I have to analyze CB tests before I write it. :/

^Lol… what the? Who’s making you do that? A test-prep comany?

lol I’m not going to hand it over to anyone. I’ll just let my teacher go over it in class.
