how many years of eng does penn take?

I took AP ENG 3 as a sophomore and got an A in the class (4.4 GPA) However, on the exam supposedly I got a 1 (don’t know how that happened, it was also my first AP exam). I really want to go to Penn but I’m freaking out about my AP exam score. My friend who’s already in college (UNCG) said most colleges only take one year of english and I could just make up for it in ENG 4. Is that true and how many tears of Eng does Penn take?

It’s true, most colleges either accept AP Eng Lang OR Lit for placement/credit, but sometimes you can use the other one for elective credit. In your case, just do well on your next English AP exam.

Thank you so much for replying and helping!

Dude, Penn only gives free elective credit for ap lit and lang (I got elective credit for both). Honestly not worth crying about. Easy peezy to get 8 electives in 4 years

@notpennstate so they take 2 years of eng not 1 like most schools?
