How much are you paying for gas?

And, are you planning to change your commuting habits because of it?

$2.99
I wish I could-

$2.99 (and some stations don’t have gas to sell because it’s being switched over to an ethanol blend). I’m not changing my driving habits, but I don’t put a lot of miles on my car anyway. I do cringe a lot when I see the price of gas though.

2.79 on the Missouri side, 2.86 on the Kansas side. driving the most econmical car when I can choose to

3.29 regular unleaded

2.99 midgrade, I have changed my habits somewhat and tried to be better organized running errands etc. One good thing with all of my kids at school now or married, I sure put less miles on the car than when I was running to all those school events (of course doesn’t offset tuition cost!)

I paid 2.79 yesterday. I curb my driving habits none, if I don’t drive, then the terrorists win!

$3.19. I’m building an electric car in my garage.

$3.15, or $2.95 if I can get to Costco.

I drive a hybrid, and have for almost 6 years now. So does my husband. We are not changing our driving habits. (Although we did qualify both our hybrids for the HOV-lane stickers here in CA so we can zip even faster through the commuter traffic. La di dah.)

Between $3.05 (Riverside’s cheapest that I’ve found, as of yesterday) and $3.40 (if I go up into the mountains).

Yikes.

$2.76 today with a promise of increases just in time for tourist season. Should keep some of those pesky RV’s off the road.

Kluge, are you really, seriously building an electric car?

And Mootmom, how do you like the hybrid? I drove one - rental car - on a business trip some months ago; I could not get past the silence, the quiet - couldn’t stop feeling as if it has stalled out.

We are paying $3.00-ish, but, it’s doubtful we’ll drive less; if it comes down to it ($4? $5? $6?) we’ll eat less instead :(

$2.85 or so in W. Kentucky. During the last spike above $3.00, started bicycle commuting and riding again in a big way. That’s helped with the fuel budget and the waistline.

Yes. (a pickup, actually) It’s taking me a long time (lots of pieces to build, buy, remove and replace and too many other things I have to do to put in the time I’d like) but I hope to be on the road by summer.

We paid $3.19 for cheapo regular in DC on Sunday. It’s up to about $3.25, with high test going for more.

Kluge, that’s really cool.

Not according to my kids…

I think gas in my area is like $2.98

All I know is that the last time I paid for gas it was $3.19…

I filled up a week ago and it was $2.89 and rising. I have to get more tomorrow.

Well done, kluge, MAKE Magazine would be so proud of you! ;)

latetoschool, I absolutely totally positively love the hybrids I’ve driven. The novelty of the quiet wears off pretty quickly. (No idling at lights, YAY! For 30 years I would TURN OFF my engine if I were going to be sitting longer than 30 seconds at a traffic light, now I don’t have to.) I’ve long been concerned about emissions and am thrilled to drive a car that essentially doesn’t have any. (At least relative to any other non-totally-electric vehicle.)

The '04 Prius I drive now fits my entire family comfortably: H (6’9"), S#1 (6’4"), S#2 (6’5"), and me (5’4"). And I grumble now if my MPG for a tank is as low as 45, I must have been heavy-footed on that tank grumble grumble…
