Hey guys, I’m a long distance track/cross country runner and I think I will be able to be recruited by the time application time begins. (I’m a Junior so in 1 year.) If I am admitted to a school primarily for athletics (I am interested in a top 20 level school,) how long do I have to run for, and what are the consequences of quitting early/as soon as my obligation ends?
Also, if anybody knows the time commitment of collegiate track/cross country, I want to know that too.
What do you mean by “quitting early”? The level of commitment you’ll need to have your application boosted at a top 20 is not conducive to “quitting”.
By “quitting early,” I mean quitting before my obligation to run at that college ends. In High School, I plan to be highly committed, but I don’t know if I can maintain that in college, which is why I am asking about the consequences of quitting @JustOneDad
If you quit, you lose your scholarship. Other than that, they’re not going to kick you out. As I already said, it would be difficult to fake the level of commitment you need to get recruited at a top 20.
