How much could be fixed in my junior year?

My grades aren’t terrible, but I realized that I have been slacking off a little bit. Right now I have a 94 uw GPA, I don’t know what that equates to on a 4.0 scale. I’ve had one B+ in Earth science in 8th grade (i don’t think this matters too much), but I think I might get a second B+ in chemistry after this year. My two languages, my music class, and my social studies class are all above 95 and my remaining classes are are between 90-94. All of my classes are honors, and I am in an accellerated English class. My biggest flaw, I think, is that I only have two real ECs, soccer and german national honor society. Over the summer I might go to the epgy program at Stanford, if I’m still able to get in. I’ll also try to get some volunteer work done.

Next year I plan on really working hard and I think I could pull off a 97 uw. I also plan on joining the national honor society and I will be an officer of the national german honor society, and probably 2 or 3 more clubs. I’ll also be playing varsity soccer and varsity track. My schedule will probably be something like this:
AP English class (didn’t pick one yet)
AP US History
AP German
Latin 3H
Physics H
Symphonic Band H
Calculus 1H

I also have the option of taking AP chemistry, but I wouldn’t really like to take it, unless it was absolutely necessary, because I would have to drop Latin and Band. If I was able to pull off a 97 uw my junior year I would definitely be in the top 10% of my class and possibly the top 5%.

I’m looking at stanford, berkeley, UPenn, Columbia, UCLA, UNC, Duke, U of Chicago, and Georgetown. Am I setting my sights to high, or do I have a good chance at these schools?

Your school selection looks very random … are you sure you’re not just listing because of name-recognition? I mean, UPenn and UChicago are quite dissimilar, as are UCLA and Georgetown. I wouldn’t just select based on what sounds good, but instead on what you like.

As for your GPA, it looks fine to me after a cursory glance.

Without SATs, we can’t even begin to guess.

Oh, I forgot to include my SATs, I took the old one as a at the beginning of the year and got 1320, but I’m only in 10th grade. I took them because of the switch to the new format. If you give me an extra year of math I think it would be fair to add 60 points, so I guess 1380 could be a good estimate of how I would have done. I’m interested in UPenn, UNC, Duke, and Georgetown because I have family who went and said good things about them. I think I’m looking at a major in business or economics and some kind of math minor
