Since ACT is mainly reading comprehension and how good a reader you are. How much did you read as a child?

I fail to see how this applies to ACT preparation… asking us how good of readers we are is a terrible topic for discussion…

I haven’t read a book for fun in the past 4 years - and I got a 35. I’m pretty sure reading books will help, but it isn’t absolutely necessary. I even barely read when I was young.

I guess I’m stupid because I got a 23 after studying ACT test prep books for years with my parents.

I read a lot until 7th grade. I then stopped reading all together except Harry Potter and only used sparknotes for school books. I got a 33 on reading.

Almost never for fun, got a 33

^ Oh, and sparknotes is made of win

@ OP why exactly did you ask this…? As if you are going to go out and read more if we told you that was the key to a 36… psh come on now.
