Okay guys im freaking out usually im an a student however my dumb teacher gave me a c for no reason. she literally said i deserved an a. i didnt get anything wrong she just took away points because i did calculations in my head! im scared cause im applying to exeter (boarding school) and now i feel like they wont take me! will this happen???how much do they care about grades compared to ssat?

Is this for a term or just one assignment? I have an “in your head” son when it comes to Math and he was warned several times before his teacher would begin taking points off. Were you told to show your work at least on one occasion? If so and you still didn’t the teacher likely wanted you to know how very important that step is.
In the future, lay off the caps please.
“Show all work” is pretty standard on math and science exams. Better to learn that lesson now.

Also, this sort of reasoning is going to lead to nowhere good. A) calling any teacher, even not a great one “dumb” strikes me as extremely disrespectful and extremely egotistical; B ) it apparently was not “for no reason”…the reason was you didn’t show your work (which as noted by others above) is sort of standard for math/science courses.
If you say this sort of stuff in an interview or write your application essays with this POV, I can almost assure you that your grades and SSAT scores (even if they are great) won’t matter a bit.
