How much do cost of books increase after transferring?

Most schools claim that students should expect to pay $1000+ on books. How true is this? Is it harder to rent books because the books are newer/up to date. At my current CC some classes’ materials are up-to date or only a couple years old and I can get them for $200 per semester by renting used copies such as through Amazon.

Depends on the specific courses. You may want to see if the college you transfer to has course home pages that list books so that you can check prices. Or the college bookstore web site may list books by course.

The schools are giving the cost of the full price books (average). Their professors make money on the books they write, and many require their own books. My daughter has one this year that is $300 and it is just one book of 7 or 8 for one class.

I can’t image it matters if you are a transfer student.
