How much do ratings matter in common app teacher recommendation?

I’m a bit concerned about having weaker teacher ratings (where they rate your qualities like top 5%, 10%, etc.) in your recommendation. I think my teachers have interesting things to say about me inside and outside the classroom, but I don’t think I’ll be getting “top few encountered in career” or “top 5%” ratings. If it counts for anything, I do go to a large public school with a senior class of 600 students…

I know having weaker teacher ratings won’t exactly help me get into top schools, but my question is how much do teacher ratings truly matter compared to the content of the letter itself?

Thanks everyone!

I imagine you were thoughtful about who you asked to write your LOR – the rest is out of your hands so stop stressing about things you can’t change. You can drive yourself absolutely nuts trying to pick apart every single aspect of your application and it won’t make a bit if difference in the outcome. I’m telling you what I told my own kids – Once you prepare the best application you can and hit that submit button, move on.
