how much do SAT count...would low SAT hurt you a lot here

So I have a 1930 SAT (M: 670, V: 580) and I am terribly concerned about this. But at my school everyone was surprised with my scores because I’m 9th in my class and people around that rank scored around 2200s (pretty much everyone above atleast 2100). However, I have a good GPA with tough classes (but everyone applying to washu has these classes) three 5s out of 4 AP exams (Calc BC: 5, Chem:5 US history:5) so idk…essay is pretty good for a person like me (english is the third language)

Would they look at my calculus score instead of the low math score on the SAT?

plus how much would a 1920 hurt me here…your opinions are needed

not to say that it won’t hurt you, but i’ve met people here with SATs below 2000, and they were unhooked (and not URMs). i have trouble understanding why you had difficulty with sat math but not calc bc, but i think a rec from a math teacher could settle any concerns about that. honestly, it’ll probably depend on you extracurriculars, your recs, and your essays more than anything. if they’re good, you should be fine.

im in the same boat as you pretty much. i taking bc calc but my math sat score isnt stellar. your sat math is probably low because its based off of math that you learned in 8th or 9th grade and dont remember anymore. im hoping it wont affect my chances too. good luck!

see i’m in BC as well and i’m doing OK but not great, but I got either a 34 or 35 on ACT math…strange how these things work out.
