Do admissions officers take “senioritis” and time spent on college apps and search into consideration? Or are they heartless??
There’s nothing heartless about viewing an applicant’s 7th semester grades – it’s one of the best indicators for success in college. It’s likely the most rigorous classes on your transcript and best reflect your ability. Indeed, first semester senior year and your two from junior year are the most indicative of your ability.
Senioritis? Somewhat ok. Severe senioritis? Yeah – that sounds like the kid who goes away to college and flunks out the first semester, to be frank.
Also if you land on a waitlist, senior year grades can make all the difference.
@T26E4 I don’t mean anything drastic - just a high nineties average to lower nineties. I completely agree that second and third semester grades should be considered, it’s just that I have a lot on my plate right now.
