How Much Do Studies Cost (NYU)

Hey… I’m from Europe, small country Montenegro… I’m interested in studying Mathematics at New York University, but can somebody tell me how much should I have to give for one year studying there? I don’t know much about it, but there is one scholarship for girls from my country, just for Maths, but I can’t come to the information about it- how much costs a year at that University? Sorry for my bad English… And thanks… =D

here is a good chart to look at [NYU Office of Financial Aid](<a href=“Financial Aid and Scholarships”>Financial Aid and Scholarships) im sure this is only a ballpark and there may be more factors contributing to this especially since you are a foreign student…wish you all the best!

The bad thing is that I don’t have any support from my country. They don’t know much about this and don’t want to take some time for helping me… awwwwhhh… and it’s really hard to do all this alone- all about preparing documents, applications etc… but thanks anyway!!

Not any different here. There are no Federal or State government workers who’s job it is to help kids apply to schools. At the local school level, the kid can ask their guidance counselor for help, occassional information meetings on applying for college, etc. But again, that is at the local school level. The kid still has to do the work of preparing documents, applications, etc. If they are lucky, the PARENTS help them out, not some government worker.

Most schools help with having search information available at the library or guidance office. But, my kids never used it. They used the internet, just like you. You have found this forum to help find the info you need. Good luck.

Oh, if you just knew how easy is that thing in my country! We just prepare few papers, and carry it to a Faculty… Er, this is hard, but is worth. :D

When I heard for this scholarship I’m talking about, they said that it covers all- tuition, books, personal expenses… But some time after we phoned University, and there was not any person who would say something more about it. Today I heard that scholarship amount is 22000. But it’s not sufficient… :frowning: This is a small and quite poor country, and it’s much, much for anybody here… Maybe in some other life! :))) Salute! :)

You should take a look at the following website: http://educationusa.state.gov/undergrad.htm</a> It was created to help international students find out about colleges and universities in the US.

You should also make an appointment with the counselors at the advising center closest to you. If you can’t visit in person, they should be able to help you over the telephone or by email.

Good luck!

NYU doesn’t offer free money to internationals. The cost is well over 50K a year. They will make you prove you can afford it before they admit you

How easy is it to get into NYU overall?
I heard someone with a 2.8 got in? how is that possible?

I haven’t been here since April… I don’t know, I actually don’t know much about studying in USA.
I have really good grades from my highschool, so relevant people from here are saying I have big changes to get in. But the money is a big problem, and 100%-aid would be only solution. I enrolled Economics in my country, and I am (ooh, very sad) saying “goodbye” to NYU.
