I have like no experience buying anything outside of retail. I see some laptops at ebay offered at $0.01 - rofl - except for shipping and handling. I wonder if those laptops are genuine.

Anyways, I just want a disposable laptop that I can carry around with me to classes and such. Disposable in that I only plan on using it to type things up and to save them to disk. I’m definitely not carrying my main laptop around - it’s far too valuable to lose.

Anyone have ideas?

You can get some pretty decent, basic laptops for $450/$500ish. My brother just got a pretty damn good laptop w/ Vista Premium for $750.

But I’m talking about the $0.01 ones from eBay (does anyone know if those sellers are reliable for laptops?) Does the fact that they exist sound surprising to anyone?

How much is shipping? If it’s not that much, just throw away the money and see how good it is.

lol - shipping is like $15-30.

Isn’t anyone excited about this? Or surprised? A lot of people have lots of old computers that they want to throw away and that are otherwise going nowhere…

Save your penny.

I found those penny laptops on EBay and they have warnings about whether or not they work. No manufacturer’s name or any specs. Just a likely broken laptop with no charger or a good battery…

Save the shipping charges and buy a jump drive.

i know a guy who bought his car on ebay. and it works, and everything.

but yeah, if you don’t mind the money, spending 30 bucks on a possibly workable laptop is worth it. it could work.
