How much do WWS task forces train your speech/presentation/public speaking skills?

Since many WWS courses are open to non-concentrators, they’re not a major factor in whether I should be a WWS major. Instead, I’m more interested in the WWS task forces. And one main reason I’m considering WWS as a major is to improve my public speaking and oral presentation skills through task forces, which appear to involve some debating and presenting.

My question is: how much debating and speaking do WWS task forces involve? What do students do when they go for the weekly meetings - do they discuss stuff together, or give presentations to each other, etc? How much of the task force is reading books/writing papers, and how much is verbal skills? Do we get a chance to present to large audiences, and how often?

Finally, if I’m really interested in developing speech/presenting skills, would it be more effective for me to join the debate panel, model UN, or some other related activity, rather than joining the task forces?

Thanks for your help! I need to make up my mind very soon because I’ll be a junior this coming fall!! (I’m already admitted to WWS.)

Yes, it is a good idea to ask random high school students on this forum rather than the friends that you certainly have who are seniors in WWS?

bump, anyone?

Seriously, few P students hang out on CC. School’s in session; ask some WWS students.

yeah no worries i’ve already asked quite a few, just hoping for more perspectives because task forces vary.
