I’m a freshman at a CCC. I’m taking the last writing class required in my class and work is taking a toll on my grades. I just searched up my writing professor on ratemyprofessors and literally everyone was not recommending this class for how harsh he is at grading. I just got a D on my essay and I’m considering withdrawing. How much of an impact will this have on my transcript? Thanks!
Depends where you apply but generally Ws don’t hurt your GPA for CSU and UCs. If you have bad grades look into academic renewal. Use rate my professors and find good yet challenging professors. If you are stuck with a professor who is a total nightmare it sucks… I know. At this point really make sure you can’t change the outcome, see if you going the extra mile will get you out with a B or A, if not get the W. My 2 cenrs
@jrohazn I am with @BackNSchool83 on this. See if there is anything you can do to get at least a B, if not - drop it with a W. A few Ws are not gonna hurt you, and it is definitely better to have a W than a C or D.
Plus, it is only your first year… take it easy, find professors that will help you, not discourage you, otherwise you will quickly burn yourself out.
