how much does an F hurt?

<p>assuming a generally overachieving kid gets all A’s (and possibly a B or two) except for one F, which he/she redoes and get an A or B back…what will college admissions think of that?</p>

<p>do you have an F as a course grade on your transcript or as a quarter grade this year?</p>

<p>It hurts, especially if it’s due to a cheating infraction. If that is the case, you are effectively screwed out of admittance to any school except a community college.</p>

<p>I think you should try to do something to bring up that low grade to atleast a B possibly. It would look like you’re slacking off if you’re a senior, because they will see semester grades and can risk admission, but if you’re a junior you should really try to bring that up for your final grade in the course because they only see that.</p>
