Recently, I won 2nd place in the Young Artists Category of the IV Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, Connecticut. I faxed an update on 3/12. IF they read it, do you think it will boost my chances? I feel like it will if I’m borderline, but I wonder how significant the boost will be. Any comments? Thank you.

I think it depends on your major. Are you applying as some form of an Art major?

Nope, I did undecided.

I don’t know what to tell you then, my friend. Sorry

There’s a very small chance that telling them about it will hurt you.
That reminds me, I’m in the same situation (but with a different award); I need to tell them too.

Did you submit an art supplement? If so, and if you’re that good, they can probably already see your talent without the award. Still, can’t hurt

Well, thing is the music I submitted through my arts supplement wasn’t nearly as strong as the way I played at the competition because I wasn’t as mature in my interpretation, so… I’m not sure.

And I’m just wondering if they’ll even READ it you know? Considering now they’re only rereading deferred applicants.
