How much does being a URM count for college admissions?

<p>I’m part black, so on my application I will be checking White and Black.
I want to go to Georgetown, and although my GPA is on the low end, my SAT is above average, and I have pretty good ECs. </p>

<p>Does being a URM count for much or should I kiss my dreams of Georgetown goodbye?</p>

<p>SLight boost. But “low end GPA” and “mediocre scores” should have you casting a net wide and far, not banking at all on GTown.</p>

<p>I never said I had mediocre scores. My GPA is around a 3.6 unweighted with 9 APs. My SAT is a 2300. That is far from mediocre in GTown standards, where the avergae is maybe a 2150-2200</p>
