im pretty much a top student, got an A in ap physics 1 but got a 2 on the ap. it’s almost definitely not grade inflation as i go to a pretty good public school.
for reference, i got 5s on lang, apush, stats, and world, but only 4s on bc and csp.
Will that 4 on BC (A in the class) also hurt me a lot?
They will never know you failed if you don’t tell them and you are not obligated to tell them. You do not need to report your AP test scores.
Don’t report the 2. It won’t hurt if you don’t report it. The 4s are still great scores and will not hurt to submit. Might not help, but it definitely won’t hurt.
First things first, if this is your real name, its best if you change it to protect yourself with an anonymous username.
Click on your profile circle in the upper right. Click the little person icon.
Click on Preferences.
Click the little pencil next to your username.
Enter your new username and click “Change”
It won’t hurt you - you’ll just (if it’s part of your future collegiate curriculum) take it again.
Not at all. With all those 4s and 5s you will still earn some AP awards (honors or distinction) and no one will know which scores you did well on.
When is it recommended to self-report AP scores?
During the application process, report the scores that either support your grades or show you understand the material better than your grades.
After admission, report the scores that might earn you some credit at the school you’re matriculating at.
Not necessarily. It’s very possible you understood the material and somehow didn’t do well on the AP test. If you want to review…look at Kahn Academy…and review. There are plenty of kids, like you, who do fine in coursework, but not so fine on the AP exam.
Just don’t send this score to the colleges.
I meant, in college, if that class is required for their degree without a way to test out, they would take it again…not high school.
If this course is required for your degree program, you will just take it in college. Otherwise, you can forget about this altogether.
thanks but dw this is just a pseudonym
