How much does Gallatin really pay when it comes to jobs?

I got an email from NYU saying that Gallatin grads are among the top 10 highest earning majors in the school. (With all Gallatin grads having the same major) On the other hand, I found a study of NYU graduates online from the school and it showed Gallatin majors as having some of the lowest salaries ($35k). If I go to Gallatin, I’m going to try and get a “real” sort of major focused around economics and make sure to take plenty of math courses as opposed to some people who might get a major in “Keeping it Real” or whatever. However, I’m afraid this is representative of something else. I don’t want to end up with less job opportunities regardless of the classes I take just because people don’t recognize the name or whatever.

btw the study is here:

You have to understand that after graduation an employer is not going to go up to you and offer you a job. You have to work hard for one. So don’t go by numbers.

Work hard and go for a job…just don’t go and expect for it to be granted to you.

How much you make when you get out of undergrad depends on how much you build upon yourself and resume in college…some people will hit lucky and might make like 100k/year out of undergrad…some may not be and will end up taking 6 months to get a job with a starting salary of 50k.

How much you make out of college is affected by luck insofar as there is some randomness in the interview process, but the majority is how you set yourself up for your field of employment - and obviously what that field is.
