<p>Just curious what lunch costs for an average high school student.</p>
<p>Our lunches just went from $2 to $2.75 and the kids are mad.</p>
<p>OMG…that is a very low price. NO college lunch is that low. Not served by the meal program. What is the complaint? I have very few lunches for $5.00 period. Stand up food truck at Penn…Hemos can be just under a Lincoln w/o drink. Notice I said w/o drink.</p>

<p>I don’t remember what they were in high school, I always went out for lunch… but I remember my mom always gave 2.00 towards lunch saying that’s about what it would be if eating at school. I usually spent about 3-4 each day at the local resteraunts… so 2 of her dollars and 2 of mine.</p>
<p>So going by that 2.00 seems like the norm, however that was six years ago… not sure what it is now.</p>
<p>Hey I went to a boarding school and trust me lunch was not $2.75 there either. I was posting a current very low price for college lunch. I would think that lunch eaters on CC are about to head out into the real world.</p>

<p>Our lunches are a la carte, but I think that there’s a “meal” option that runs at about $2.50. I don’t know of anyone who actually buys a lunch like that; I think they need a package of some sort with a set price to calculate reduced lunch prices for those who qualify. I could be wrong, though.</p>
<p>Last year, I generally spent $3-5 on lunch, but keep in mind that drinks, including water, cost $1.25.</p>
<p>Our HS’s DECA chapter also runs a store during lunch with additional snacks, popcorn, slushies…all that jazz.</p>

<p>Price at our high school is zero. There is no cafeteria. Except for a few vending machines, the kids are on their own when it comes to food.</p>

<p>coureur…is that a public school? I haven’t heard of that in public school but perhaps your school is in walking distance to places for the kids to catch food off campus? Or must they all pack a lunch? There is no place to walk from our high school, and they can’t leave campus. I assumed that most public schools had cafeterias. Perhaps ones in urban settings don’t? (ours is rural, but even my suburban HS growing up had a cafeteria)</p>
<p>Our kids’ lunches run $5.00-6.00…private school if that makes any difference.</p>

There is also an a la carte menu, and a supersize option.</p>
<p>Our kids are not allowed off campus during lunch. Since they only get 20 minutes, it would be hard to get anywhere in that time anyway.</p>

<p>My youngest graduated in June, but I just checked online. Full lunch is $3, breakfast is $1.50.</p>
<p>Like dke, lunch at my kids’ school runs $5 - $6, for a simple meal. S isn’t crazy about the food, so I pack a lunch 3 or 4 days a week.</p>
