So I am a sophomore in High School and I generally get all A’s and B’s. For the first time in my math class the first two trimesters I had B’s but this trimester I got a C+…how much is this grade going to impact my college admissions chances

The pattern that someone reviewing your transcript would see is that in your sophomore year your math grades for the three trimesters were: B B C+. So the question is whether the reviewer would see this as significantly different from a pattern of B B B. My sense is that it isn’t significantly different, and that it wouldn’t affect how your transcript is seen, and weighed in the application process.

If you were planning to apply to a technically focused selective college (say MIT, CMU, etc.) then a pattern of BBB or BBC+ in Math would impact your chances. But if you’re planning a liberal arts major then your other grades can more than compensate.
