Does self-studying and doing well on an AP Exam really make much of a difference to colleges? The ones I’m planning to self-study (AP Euro and AP US Gov) don’t relate to my planned major (Computer Science).

It seems to be a common myth here on cc that colleges only care about things done in relation to a potential major. Of course, demonstrated interest in a particular topic is great, but don’t let a certain course rule out other academic interests. Having good marks on self-study humanities exams shows a well-rounded individual that holds academic motivation. Doing well on those exams would only add to your application, not detract from it.
