<p>How much does Stanford weight interviews? I have one next week and was wondering if anyone knew how much this can affect their decision. Thanks</p>

<p>Not much at all. First of all, it’s only a pilot program, so they can’t really trust their interviewers yet. Second of all, (and this comes directly from the admissions officer who gave my info session) the interview program is mostly to increase awareness of Stanford in areas where it might not be so popular, which is why no interviews are offered in California. It is basically a sales tool.</p>
<p>The interviews are going to have an (extremely) minor role in the process. especially since the VAST majority of students won’t get to have one. It’s a pilot program as was mentioned in the above post. They are trying to see how they may use interviews in future years.</p>
