How much does UNC consider ECs and Honors/ Awards v. comparable schools?

I am an early notification applicant for UNC. While my SATs are definately on the lower end (660 CR, 650 M, 670 W) ESPECIALLY for an OOS candidate, I have a stellar extracurricular record, having filled 43 slots on the honors and awards list they ask you to fill in on the application. Do people like me stand a chance in the least bit, and also, if you are in the same situation as me, I would love to hear from you. Thanks for all of your replies!

43?
Do you not find that a little excessive?

holy hell. 43?!? If they’re all legit and you seemed passionate about them you do stand a chance. Obviously a smaller chance than those with the high scores and a few decent ECs, but a chance nonetheless. I’d like to hear what some of those that you’re most proud of could be…

The question is: are you committed to each and every extracurricular activity in a way that shows on the application? Leadership roles and specific honors within the activity show the admissions counselors that these activities are meaningful for you. On the flip side, if you were simply a member in each activity, a person who attends meetings but not much else, the counselors will see it right away. In that case, someone with a few solid EC’s that they have proven their devotion to would stand out much more, at least in my opinion.

iomr,
you said
“In that case, someone with a few solid EC’s that they have proven their devotion to would stand out much more, at least in my opinion.”

Do you mean they would stand out much more than someone with higher SATS?

This was copied and pasted form my application

this is a really dumb question. all top schools value ECs as well as grades/test scores.

no need to be rude lulumobile…EVERY school is different, and I’m sure most can agree.

sorry for being short, but it really just depends on the overall package as far as i know. and your awards listed are very impressive btw

thanks  i just dont think they will be enough considering other posters’ stats…its like uggg…but what can i do except wait.

if u go into ROTC then i say yes good chance at getting in for OOS

unfortunately, i have a peanut allergy which I am battling. I have already won the NROTC scholarship, but it will 98% likely be rescinded… ive known this since october, and I am now a business hopeful
