How much does vocabulary words impact your P/SAT?

I have 5 months or 7-8 months to prepare for the high school I want for my sophomore year. My main worry in P/SAT is my critical reading…which I scored 390 as a 7th grader. I barely answered any sentence completion questions… maybe three at max.

If I were to study vocabulary words up until the testing day and get perfect in that specific section, how much would my score increase by? I’m aiming for 600+ currently. Also, how much would my comprehension skills increase (if I don’t study it) by studying all these words? Is it better to read books or study passages+questions in SAT prep books? And about how many words should I study per day/week?

Also, how do I roughly determine what my scores will be on the ISEE/SSAT by using my P/SAT scores?

I memorize vocabulary words by pulling up the google app on my iPhone and typing in each vocabulary word. The words automatically show in the search history once you pull up the app, so you don’t forget the words you studied. What’s even handier is if you forget a word, you can just tap it on the search history list, and the definition will pull back up again. This really helped me with my vocab skills; on the May 4th SAT, I think I only missed like 3-4 SC questions.
