I got in EA for Stats + CS. I applied for this major because I’m interested in Data Science. I was wondering how much easier it was to get in for this major; I know many people who got differed for CS in the engineering department who have higher test scores and GPA. Is it because it’s holistic or is it really that much easier to get in for Stats + CS?
It’s definitely holistic, you probably had really good essays or experiences. While it is slightly easier to get into stats/cs, it’s still very difficult. You take the same core 9 classes as CS-Eng majors, but replace some of your CS 400-level electives with stats classes.
Anyways, prestige is about the same, it’s a CS degree from a top 5 CS school.
